Happy July 4th!!

First off I would like to thank the men and women who have, are or will serve to keep the United States a free country.  I do make it a point to always thank you when I see you all in public.  Thanks for your selfless act of keeping me safe everyday!
With it being Independence Day, I decided to push myself and do something independent!  I registered for the Bluegrass 10,000 a few months ago and have worked hard training for this 6.2 mile race.
This morning I was very nervous since I had never run more than 3.7 miles at a time, wasn't sure what to expect.  The race was amazing! I went slower than I should have, but again....I wasn't sure what to expect. Felt amazing the entire race, truly enjoyed it!  The last mile I really put on the speed and brought it home.
I want to thank all of you for your support!  I wouldn't be where I am today, able to run 6.2 miles without stopping to walk, if it weren't for the encouragement I get from all of you!
This race showed me that I can do anything I want to do!  I'm now so excited for the Iron Horse Half Marathon (13.1 miles) in October!
Thanks again everyone! Now go out and enjoy the rest of the Fourth!!  Be safe!

Love you all!

I love packing!

Or at least I keep telling myself that! :-)
I am getting really excited to head to CATlanta for the Men's SEC Tournament on Wednesday morning.  My Mom, Sally (friend from church) and I are making the trek down together.  Mr. Stafford and Beth are going to meet us Thursday and William is driving down later that night as well!  It will be a really fun trip for all of us! I like our bracket and think we have a great chance of doing well!!
I'll update more later....homework calls!

Let's make it a UK sweep in the Volunteer State!!

UK Women's 2010-2011 Basketball Team
GO BIG BLUE!!
The UK Women's Basketball team just crushed vandy to make it to the SEC Championship game against tennessee!  What an awesome first half it was...vandy only scored 11 points in the entire 20 minutes! Now tomorrow they take on tennessee at 5:30pm.  It will be a tough game, but if they play like they did tonight the SEC Championship trophy will be coming to Lexington!
UK Men's 2010-2011 Basketball Team
The UK Men's Basketball team takes on tennessee tomorrow as well for the last game of the regular season.  This is a very important game on many levels.
1. I do not like tennessee at all!
2. If we win, we would receive a bye for the first game of the SEC Tournament!
With all that said, I hope our UK Men and Women's Basketball teams can sweep the volunteer state!!

For those of you that don't know...my Mom, Will, his Dad and I are all going to the SEC Tournament in Atlanta this week!! We are so excited for all the basketball!

*Yes, I intentionally put the teams that don't matter in lower case*

Here is a link to a really funny post from KSR on tennessee Hate Day :-)

If you are reading this you probably know most things about me.  For the rest of you let me invite you into my life a little. I’m a 23 year old college student at Salem International University studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Management.  I work at a college bookstore and enjoy hiking and being outdoors as much as I can be. Anyone who knows me realizes I am a huge fan of the color green! It is by far the coolest color on the planet!

I’ve taken many leaps of faith in the past year, but have made it through and can’t wait to see what God has in store for me next!
I like to consider myself to be one of the top fanatics of the University of Kentucky Athletics program!  You will see me at basketball games, football games, volleyball games, soccer games, and so on.  Sports are so amazing! I love them all!!

Throughout this blog, I hope to enlighten you with my words of wisdom...HAHA! Actually, I'm just going to have fun writing about my adventures, exercise, sports, and many other areas of my life.  Hope you enjoy!
